Downtown Beautification – Fall The flowers have since disappeared for the season, but we hope you’re enjoying the fall cornstalks sponsored by HDCA!

Mike Cooney Message Coming out of our last merchant social, Mike Cooney asked me to spread the word that he is always open to hearing any City of Chelan feedback or questions from downtown businesses. If you have something that’s bugging you, don’t be afraid to speak up!

Business Tree Competition vs Festival of Trees

HDCA has a couple tree related activities this holiday season, and we want to make sure there’s no confusion! Here’s the difference:

  1. Festival of Trees – this is a silent auction benefitting the Lake Chelan Food Bank. Any person, business, organization is invited to submit a decorated artificial tree that will be on display at the Visitor’s Center and will be up for auction. Auction winners and highest bid trees will be announced at Santa’s Tree Lighting Ceremony on Hot Friday.

  2. Downtown Business Tree Decorating Competition – this is an effort to improve holiday lighting downtown during the Christmas season. Downtown businesses are encouraged to adopt one of the trees growing out of the sidewalk and decorate it. The winner will receive our best of show plaque. So far we have 11 businesses signed up. Let me know if you’d like to join!
