2010 HDCA Organization Committee Work Plan:

Goal:  Help build a solid foundation for the program by assisting with attracting the people and financial resources to support the revitalization effort.

Objectives:

1. Develop communication tools to reach the greater Chelan area.

Activities:

·         Coordinate annual meeting.

·         Assist staff in redesigning a printed and/or e-newsletter that includes committee updates, educational information, volunteer recognition, etc. Determine frequency of publication.

·         Update as needed the PowerPoint presentation for civic organizations.  

·         Maintain www.historicchelan.org with complete and timely information and provide links to other websites  

·         Design new HDCA Informational Brochure & Membership Application (Last one published for 2007-08).  

2. Increase the volunteer base and encourage more participation and involvement.

Activities:

  • Maintain volunteer tracking spreadsheet 
  • Develop and implement a volunteer recognition plan (including recognition at annual meeting and in newsletter).
  • Provide training for members and volunteers.  Encourage attendance at Downtown Revitalization Institute and other state, local, and national conferences or workshops.

3. Assist with building partnerships.   

Activities:

  • Maintain a list of key community organizations and include information on area of interests, current activities, and activities already partnering with HDCA.
  • Work with high school district on ways to involve elementary, middle & high school staff & students in downtown events or projects. Work with students who need to fulfill their community service requirement.

4. Assist with fundraising plans for the organization.

Activities:

  • Coordinate planning for annual membership campaign 
  • Assist Manager with Main Street Tax (B&O) Credit Contributions and Funding Agreement with the City.
  • Oversee special event fundraisers (e.g. Street Fair, Red Hat, etc.).
  • Coordinate possible Christmas Fundraiser (e.g., ornaments, cards, holographic glass etc.)

5. Ensure good internal operations.

Activities:

  • Review policies and procedures manual.
  • Develop phone tree/email procedure for security related communications
  • Develop Resource Team to address business operations & practices
