You can bet that your "Local" downtown merchants recycle on a regular basis and…THINK GREEN.  Many will have drawings for a green gift on First Friday. Stop by and visit with their environmental speakers below and get your free “Shop Local…Shop Green” Book Markers.

 

Zella’s: has switched locations and is now at 246 W. Manson Hwy (1 block west of Safeway).  See her REUSE shorts and jeans made from 80% recycled fabric and apparel by Revival Ink, hand printed by a Seattle designer.  Zella’s will be accepting dresses for their RE Dress Event, March 13th. (For ladies who would like to sell their gently worn or new dresses from everyday to wedding).

   

Culinary Apple: demonstrations on the “Original” micro-fiber cleaning cloth, Mysticmaid.  Cleans without chemicals.    Enter a drawing for a free Mysticmaid cloth.

 
Blue Moon: Steve Helmick environmental pest control.

Bear Foods: Valley Bloomers with gardening advice and Heirloom Tomato seeds.

 

Shirt Shop:  Bea Murphy with Recycling tips “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle” and Earth Day information. 

      
Kelly's Ace Hardware: Ken & Mary Ross will discuss the yearly metal collection and community clean up.

Spirals: Theresa Poulson, a Park Ranger for the US Army Corps of Engineers, will discuss water safety and mitigation sites along our shorelines and address other environmental concerns.

  

Columbia Furniture: Sunshine Farms will talk about organic gardening, their Community Supported Agriculture program, and they may bring their electric tractor.

Columbia Furniture also has many pieces using reclaimed wood. (Guy Evans last year with Frants from Columbia Furniture).

Black Dog Frame Shop: The Lake Chelan Sailing club will have a sail boat on display and discuss the true “Green” way to be on the water. 

 

Main Street Gallery: Solid Rock Farm at Main Street Galley: Organic gardening tips, community farm membership information-- eating local in Chelan. Main Street Gallery will also offer 25% off recycled jean skirts and Bear Ridge winter coats made with EnviroLoop.

 

Whaley's: Chelan Dog tips at Whaley’s along with 20% off  Pet EcoMats and Chico Carryall Bags made with recycled  water bottles.  Joining Jon and Robbie will be Darrel and Barb Snow who will represent the Humane Society with photos of adoptable animals and information brochures.

         

 

Swim World:  Anne and Randy Brooks Brooks Solar will bring their Electric Toyota Echo. They will discuss Earth Day and more!  Check out Swim World's Recycled Products area.

The Vogue - A Liquid Lounge: Steve Milner and Bridget Eagan will have information on the Chelan/Douglas Land Trust.

  

Company 107:  Stan Morse with composting tips and samples of his vertical potato and strawberry beds. Company 107 also has items featuring recycled water bottles.

 

  • Lake Chelan High School Art will be displayed in participating merchants.
  • Lake Chelan Lutheran Church Bake Sale to assist their youth group's annual trip to Nicaragua.
  • St. Francis Youth Group will feature “Hearts for Haiti”: decorate your own cookie and help support their efforts to help survivors in Haiti. 
  • 4th Annual Chelan-Guatemala Mission team leaving March 11-22.  They will work with 3 village schools, a Healthcare Clinic and Rehabilitation Hospital.  The Mission Team will be serving Guatemalan coffee and hot chocolate in the space between Main Street Gallery and Memories by the Lake.
  • Lake Chelan Valley EMS will have their ambulance on hand and volunteers from the SPHERE Program will be doing blood pressure and glucose monitoring in front of Radio Shack.
