Sept 23 Update

1) Winterfest

Head to Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce on Monday, Sept. 26 from 6-7pm to get up to speed on all the great plans underway for Winterfest 2017. This will be your chance to sign up to be involved through sponsorship, volunteering, as well as other business opportunities. BONUS: the first 10 button offers they receive will be printed in the Winter Guide that is distributed Valley-wide throughout the winter season.

2) Fall Merchants’ Meeting

We’ll have our Fall Merchants’ Social combined with our Annual Membership Meeting on Oct 4th at Stormy Mountain Brewing. Mingling will begin at 5:30 and the meeting will be 6:10pm – 7pm. We’ll cover what’s going on downtown, what’s coming up for downtown, the one-way bridge proposal, downtown holiday plans and more.

3) Your Input for Board Retreat

Our Board Retreat will be on Oct 19th from 8am – 12pm. We’re excited to be working with a consultant/facilitator who has a great deal of experience working with Main Street organizations. The HDCA is heading into a new era and we want to hear what you have to say. Please take this quick, anonymous survey to let our board members know your thoughts prior to that meeting! https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/FZ83ZVS

4) New City Administrator Selection

Candidates for the City Administrator role will be in town next week for interviews. The City kindly invited me to represent HDCA on the interview panel. For those interested, the community will also have the opportunity to meet all the candidates on Sept 28th from 5-7pm at The Vogue.

5) Paul’s Retirement Party:

Speaking of City Administrators, we’re all sad to see Paul Schmidt go! He’s definitely been a friend to HDCA and we’ll miss his leadership. There will be a community reception/retirement party on Oct 7th from 4-7pm at the Municipal Golf Course. Come let him know how much we’ve appreciated his support of the downtown!

6) Sip & Stroll

As you know, Sip & Stroll is tomorrow! Yay! We’ve almost sold out of tickets, the weather is looking great and we’ll have some local musician adding to the day! There’s less than 25 tickets left, so if you know anybody that’s dying to go, tell them to get their order in!

We hope you like the cornstalks we’ve added along Woodin Avenue to welcome in fall! We got them up and the weather arrived right on cue…
