Historic Downtown Chelan Names Foundation and WAL

Have you heard the exciting news? Our Woodin Avenue Landing fundraising efforts have been a big success! We surpassed our $30,000 goal by mid-July. The next day, we were thrilled to receive a $30,000 check from the Names Family Foundation! We’ve also had Morfin Landscaping and Lake Chelan Building Supply offer their services! It’s exciting to see it all come together, and we still plan to break ground soon after Labor Day.

It’s not too late to be involved. If you’d like your name or business name on the donor plaque, let me know! Any funds above and beyond what we need for the park will be rolled into Phase II, the area in between Campbell’s Park Room and B.C. MacDonald’s.

Music in the Park – sponsored by RE/MAX Advantage – Lake Chelan

Mark your calendar: our next Music in the Park will be on Aug 23 at 6pm! Come enjoy the folksy music of Bryson Evans! With influences like Hank Williams, Tom Waits, Guy Clark and Willie Nelson, Evans brings a tireless approach including guitar, harmonica and a sound of his own every time he plays.

Our plan was to start small this year and grow Music in the Park next year. It’s been a successful first year, and we’re excited to add more performances and hopefully feature food and drinks at next year’s events! Thank you once again to RE/MAX Advantage – Lake Chelan for making Music in the Park possible!

Sip & Stroll

Tickets are on sale for our 5th Annual Sip & Stroll on September 23rd from 3-6pm! We’ll feature 11 local beverages in downtown businesses. Encourage your friends to come enjoy a beautiful fall day in downtown Chelan.

Small Town Christmas

I know it’s only August, but at HDCA we’re already drowning in Small Town Christmas planning! We’ll have much more information coming soon, but in the meantime, I want to thank volunteers Nancy Thompson and Cathy Sand for all the hard work they’ve put into a new addition to this year’s festivities, the Festival of Trees benefitting Chelan Food Bank! Cathy and Nancy set up our promotional/downtown merchants tree up in the Visitor’s Center this week, which will allow us to start spreading the word about Festival of Trees and all the other activities we have planned for Small Town Christmas 2017! Stay tuned for more info…
