LET ME INTRODUCE MYSELF

Hi! I’m new here.

My name is Aimee Sheridan and I’m the Executive Director of the Historic Downtown Chelan Association (or HDCA if you prefer acronyms).

And while I spend the next couple weeks figuring out how to work the printer in the office, I didn’t want any time to pass without saying hello and letting you know how much I’m looking forward to getting to know you better.

I’m fortunate in that I’ve already met many of you over the last few years – and I am excited to meet those of you I haven’t met yet.

I know I have my hands full – there is a lot to do, and not everyone always agrees on how it should be done. That’s ok. I know together we can figure it out. And, I know I have some pretty big shoes to fill. Please forgive me the awkwardness as I learn to walk in them.

Luckily, I’m not alone. I have Kiersten Sahlberg with me – she’s HDCA’s new Marketing and Programs Coordinator. You’re going to love getting to know her! She and I already make a great team. Besides the fact that both of us thrive on being super organized – we have fun. And isn’t that just as important as anything else.

I also get to rely on a dedicated board of directors. Being on the board is a tough job. Because it’s not actually their job, but they still make it work – even with busy careers and families. I thank them for serving their community in this way. HDCA couldn’t function without them.
And let’s talk about the volunteers! Those of you who hang lights and banners, stuff envelopes, and work the events. You are the beating heart of HDCA – I am looking forward to all that we can do! Volunteering in your community, on behalf of others is an honorable thing. It doesn’t go unnoticed!

There are so many incredible HDCA members and donors. In the three years I’ve been involved with HDCA, I have witnessed you generously giving your time, talent, and treasure to making Chelan’s historic downtown truly special.

Some of you have been supporting the HDCA since the beginning and some of you are brand new (like me!) I know that together, we can bring all that wisdom from the past, and all the vision of the future together, into something that will knock all our socks off.

Kiersten and I will be sharing the duties of writing posts to this blog, and we are committed to keeping you informed, being transparent, and advocating, facilitating, and inspiring you, and our community with what we can accomplish. We know that a strong Lake Chelan Valley goes hand in hand with a strong, vibrant downtown Chelan.

Onward and Upward!
– Aimee
